Check Your Internet Speed

A strong internet connection is very important for all of your appointments with Indy Myo.

Please complete these steps to ensure we have a smooth appointment:

Visit the Speedtest website to get started.
Ping: Under 100 is good, the lower the better
Download Speed: Over 10 is good
Upload Speed: Over 3 is good

The upload speed is important and can messes up our call. If you find that your upload speed is low, it may be becasue you're using a wi-fi instead of a hard wired, direct connection to your internet. You can try hooking your computer directly to the internet cable and NOT the wi-fi router in order to prevent trouble or delays with the appointment. You may need to turn your wi-fi off on your computer. You many need to buy a longer cord to connect from the modem to the computer.

HOW TO CHECK YOUR MICROPHONE SETTING

For Mac:

For Windows:

Go to Start and search for microphone setup
When the microphone setup opens, you may be prompted to fix your microphone (even if it’s previously been working)
Walk through the guided microphone setup/fix
When done, go back to Chrome and refresh the page where the online meeting is taking place.

HOW TO CHECK YOUR WEBCAM SETTINGS

Because we all use different webcams, I cannot provide specific instructions here. You will need to do a search and make sure your camera is working. Sometimes in the doxy.me or Skype program you have to accept that the program access your camera and microphone. Please feel free to reach out with any concerns and I am happy to help navigate this!

Prepare for Your Virtual Exam

Before our appointment, there are a few things you need to know and do:

1. You should receive an email with your appointment details. Please make sure the email is correct and add it to your calendar.

2. Make sure you are using the most up to date version of Chrome. You may also need to make sure that other programs are not already using your microphone and speakers. To troubleshoot this problem, start by quitting or stopping all other programs that are running. I will send you a zoom link for our exam date.

3. Please download your Discovery Paperwork and complete the pages that apply to you. Please email your paperwork to hali@indymyo.com . It is very important that this paperwork is sent back as a PDF. There are many free apps that will turn your phone into a scanner and you can save the file as a PDF. My software needs the information to be in the form of a PDF.

4. You will take a series of photos and videos in order to help me complete your comprehensive exam. Follow the directions for the required photos here . Make it super easy by SHARING the photos/videos via Google Drive or Dropbox where you can share the whole folder or email them to me. PLEASE!! PLEASE!! At least 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment, be sure to send these photos to hali@indymyo.com

** Please make sure that all photos are clear and not blurry or too DARK. If you have taken a photo inside the mouth and it’s dark, please RETAKE IT WITH A FLASH or in better lighting! A blurry or dark photo is not diagnostic. Save time by making sure your photos are useful!

Starting Therapy

Let's Do This!!

I have a few more things for you to do before we are ready to start therapy. They are very important!

1. Please keep your kit in a safe place. There is a $30 charge to replace and ship it to you. Also, you need to take careful care of your tongue-tie assessment scale and cotton rolls, because you need them at the end of the program also!

2. Send the last of your photos/videos. (Photos Part 2) Make it super easy by SHARING the photos/videos via Google Drive or Dropbox where you can share the whole folder or email them to me at hali@indymyo.com

5. Watch the “ Jump Into Therapy ” video! This is mandatory before the first session. I introduce you to some important information that you need to be up to speed on before your first session! I cannot possibly teach all of this in the first session so, please come prepared!

6. Use the link provided in your Welcome to Therapy email to schedule your first appointment.
